Want to visit?
Swona is a wonderful place to visit. Access is difficult and can be dangerous. The island is situated in the Pentland Firth which has extremely strong tides and is exposed to Atlantic and North Sea swell.
If you want to visit the island, please read these guidelines first:
As Swona is a private island you need to ask permission to access the pier and tie up etc. It is also good to have a conversation with the owners so you can find out a bit more about the island and the best things to see.
